International Biogas Experience

The German experience is particularly instructive for Ontario. Since the introduction of Feed-In Tariffs for biogas in Germany, 4000 projects have been developed, generating over 1400MW of electricity. $1.5 billion has been invested and over 10,000 jobs created. By 2020, Germany is anticipating $10.5 billion in investment, with the creation of 85,000 jobs.

Provincial

Ontario, with similar agricultural potential, can follow this example. What with approximately 25 projects in various stages of development, biogas technology is estimated to produce more than 12MW of electricity contributing to the renewable energy portfolio in Ontario.
