David Rose

David Rose is an agricultural banking specialist with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and provides part time support to his wife and their family farm. Before joining CIBC in 1998, David worked with OMAFRA for fourteen years and became focused on farm financial management, financial analysis and troubleshooting. After being introduced to the biogas sector through the Ontario Large Herd Operators Group, David’s role within CIBC has included a Green Energy specialty that has taken him across the province to visit several biogas pioneers who are stepping up to the challenge of being among the first farm based biogas developers under the Province of Ontario’s Feed-In Tariff.  “I believe that on-farm biogas systems represent an economic opportunity for developers, and that these systems will provide significant environmental benefits to the people of Ontario by diverting food by-products from landfill and improving the management of liquid manure in crop production systems.  I understand how biogas systems are supposed to work, and as an agricultural banker, I speak banking to farmers and farming to bankers.  I look forward to becoming more involved in this industry, and I hope to help the farm-based biogas sector grow,” contributes David.
