After a talk given by Jeff Nonay, at the Dairy Farmers of Canada annual meeting, which focused on environmental sustainability, Friesen reports on how dairy farmers are increasingly curbing greenhouse gas
emissions through composting and biogas. Jaques Laforge, DFC’s outgoing president, suggests dairy farms could band together as co-operatives to share the costs of installing AD on farms. Friesen also notes other products can be made from AD output, including paper made from fibrous digestate. More…
