Fepro Farms hosted a tour of its biogas facility on Sept 24th in Cobden, Ontario. Attendance was comprised of engineering students, neighbours, and Liberal and NDP candidates in the local riding. The tour started in the dairy barn and followed the process from the pasteurizer, anaerobic digester, generator and electrical grid. A stop was also made at the corn drying unit where heat from the generator is used in the fall.
Biogas interest was captured at the International Plowing Match (IPM) near Hawkesbury with tours held at Terryland Farms on Sept 21st, 23rd and 24th. Coordinated by the University of Guelph, Alfred Campus and promoted by APAO, people were shuttled to the farm to visit the biogas facility and learn more about the many renewable systems in operation.
