About Us

The Agri-Energy Producers' Association of Ontario (APAO) is a farmers' association promoting the development of farm-based renewable electricity generation, with particular emphasis on biogas. APAO is heavily involved in guiding on-going regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector, notably environmental and electricity regulation. We provide a strong voice for the agricultural sector and defend its interests in our dealings with regulatory agencies. APAO also provides guidance and assistance to members on a wide range of renewable energy issues, facilitates the exchange of information and valuable operational experience between members, organizes tours of existing installations and works to educate the public as to the benefits of agri-energy.

APAO is an Associate Member Organization under the auspices of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). Like OSEA, our mandate is to "facilitate the transition to a sustainable energy economy in Ontario through the development and support of community-based sustainable energy initiatives".
